What is Google Call Reporting?
Today we are discussing Google Call Reporting. Google Ads has actually been tracking phone number interaction on their platform for years! Think calls from ad extensions, calls from the website, calls from location extensions, and calls directly from Call Ads (formally Call-Only Ads.)
It was actually one of the first conversion actions that Google Ads managers could track, albeit fairly poorly in its heyday (this is not the case anymore as Google has become better and more reliable than ever with accountability.)
Google Call Reporting is how you can view calls within the Google Ads UI. It allows for a more granular observation of—when, were (campaign, ad group, keyword) and how long an actual customer interacted with your ads during a call!
This is really great news for advertisers as it allows us the opportunity to peek into how well our ads and keywords are actually working within an account.

Getting started with Call Reporting and Next steps on how to use it.
Now that we have found out what Google Call Reports are, as well as were to find them within the Google UI. It is now time to do a little digging into the data and find insights that help your business get the most from this report.
Knowing where to look is half the battle here—I would suggest looking at call duration, keep in mind questions like; are these calls lasting for an adequate amount of time, is your intake staff trained to extract the necessary information from the lead, are the calls taking place from the desired location (callers area code.)
How about we look at the ad group and keywords that were actually clicked—and that leads to these calls actually happening! This will give us a better idea of where we should allocate the budget in the following weeks.
