Three tips for better ad copy and why ad copy is important.
Ad copy is what users first click on, they search keywords. So of course, ad copy is important!
It is the first time we are actually engaging with your prospective customers and providing them with insights into what services are being provided.
Β
Search ads are made up of a few components, so letβs first go over what those are.
Β
Expanded text ads or text ads are made up of three headlines, which consist of thirty characters and two description lines consisting of 90 charters.
Bonus tip: It is in your best interest to max out the thirty and ninety character limits within both fields to help increase click-through rate.
Today we will be going over 3 tips for better ad copy, so letβs begin!
Β
Tip Number one:
Have your keyword in headline number one. This is important because it helps with increasing click-through rate, which is a very important metric to keep in mind when measuring the effectiveness of ads.
Β
Keeping your keyword within the first headline helps your ad stand apart from other advertisers and allows you to provide a value proposition to your customers immediately.
Β
Over saturating your descriptions with sales words and all capitalized words will get your ads disapproved.
Therefore, do not do it.
Tip number two:
Follow Google Ads policies and guidelines. Here is a link to Google Ads text ad requirements: Google
Google puts this bestβ βWe only allow ads that are clear, professional in appearance, and that lead users to content that is relevant, useful, and easy to interact with.β
Tip Number Three:
Expanded Text ads are great because they allow for the use of all different types of relevant ad extensions.
Β
These are extra areas that prompt users to directly interact with the ad itself. They are an essential part to well designed ads and ultimately the userβs experience.
Β
Using all the different types of ad extensions also offers a considerable boost in performance.
Tip Number Three: Use all available and relevant ad extensions.
Personally, I always implement the top five most commonly used ad extensions on client accounts.
Bonus tip: Sitelink, Callout, Structured snippets, Call extensions, and Locations extensions are the best for a reason.
